Getting to Vancouver

You can reach Vancouver by ferry, airplane, car, train, or bus.

Car

  • From the United States, drive North on the I-5 and stay on highway 99 once you cross the Canadian border.
  • From other parts of Canada, drive west on highway #1.

Air

Two airlines share the market within Canada: Air Canada and West Jet. For information on international air carriers landing in Vancouver, visit the Vancouver International Airport's (YVR) website.

Another option is to land in Seattle, at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Buses

Gotobus is the best one-stop-shopping, online bus-ticket vendor. Use it for advance purchase of Vancouver tours and day trips, as well as to book your trip to-and-from Seattle Tacoma International Airport. In fact, you can book bus trips all over the world with gotobus.

Greyhound and Quick Shuttle are the most popular intercity bus lines in the area.

Trains

Ferries

Vancouver has two major ferry terminals: Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay. BC Ferries runs boats to and from Vancouver Island and the surrounding Golf Islands. Check out the schedules here.

Book tours of british columbia, whistler, the rockies, butchard gardens, and downtown vancouver. Buy immediately. Do not leave it for later.
